By MARK BLANCO Staff WriterPosted Nov 15, 2020 10:52:56 The film director behind the Godzilla movie series is still keen on a new film from the popular monster.
Speaking to Deadline Hollywood about the film that will take place in the fictional town of Tokyo, Akira Ishii said he has not ruled out a follow up.
“I love Godzilla, and I would love to see another one,” Ishii told Deadline Hollywood.
“I think it’s still a favorite.”
The director said the current Godzilla film series is going to keep going for a long time.
“We’ve got Godzilla: Final Wars.
There’s a lot more films in the series.
But I’m not ruling anything out,” Ishida said.
The director also revealed he’s not worried about the future of Godzilla in the Godzilla series.
“They’re going to have another one, maybe, a third one,” he said.
“But the series will continue.”
The Godzilla series was released in Japan in 1981 and spawned several sequels and spin-offs.
The franchise has a global following and is still being produced in many other countries.
