The Hobbit trilogy is the largest ever in terms of worldwide grosses, but that’s not the end of it for Warner Bros.’
Hobbit films, which are being developed for the next generation of consoles.
In this exclusive interview with Polygon, director Peter Jackson and producer David Heyman discuss their vision for the future of the Hobbit movies and how they will bring a new dimension to the saga.
“We have two years left on the franchise, and we have two movies that are still in development,” Jackson told Polygon.
“But there’s no reason to stop now, because it’s the future.
We want to continue to make movies that we’re really excited about, and if we have to do a sequel, we will.
We can go back to the basics, which is the story, the characters and the world.
That’s the key to it.
It’s all about that.”
What we know so far: The trilogy will continue with The Hobbit in 2019, The Descent in 2020, The Battle of the Five Armies in 2021, and The Two Towers in 2022.
It will conclude with The Return of the King in 2023.
What we don’t know: Where the new trilogy will take place is still being determined.
In 2019, it is believed to be in Iceland.
In 2020, it’s said to be on a ship off the coast of the Falkland Islands.
The second installment will follow The Battle in 2022 and The Return in 2024.
There is a possibility that it will take the form of a sequel to The Hobbit, which was written by Peter Jackson.
“I think we’ve got a pretty good idea of where we want it to go,” Jackson said.
“And that’s a story we’ve been developing for a long time.
The biggest difference is we’ve had more freedom.
There’s a fresh, new take on the characters. “
There’s a new tone to the story.
There’s a fresh, new take on the characters.
The world is a new place.
The technology is a whole new place, and the way that the world is connected is a completely different place.
And I think that’s the exciting thing about The Hobbit and the next Hobbit movies.”
Jackson has also hinted that there will be a new trilogy of movies based on The Lord of the Rings movies.
“The next Hobbit is going to be based on the Lord of [the] Rings movies,” Jackson revealed.
“It’s going to take place after The Hobbit.
And there’s a lot of work to be done, but it’s happening. “
So, yes, there are going to come to a close.
And there’s a lot of work to be done, but it’s happening.
We are all very excited.”
The Hobbit movies were released on December 19, 2007.
They grossed over $1.1 billion worldwide.
The latest installment is in development at Warner Bros., and is slated for a 2018 release.
